FAQs
What kind of dining experience is this?
Wild Common is a unique, synchronized dining experience with a chef-curated tasting menu.
How does seating work?
We offer synchronized service and seat up to 12 guests per hour. This allows our team to pace courses intentionally and deliver a technique-driven experience, while working within the size of our very small kitchen.
Why does arriving on time matter?
Arriving on time is important because service is synchronized. Arriving late can result in missed or rushed courses. Food will begin arriving to the table about 15 minutes after you are seated.
How long does dinner take?
Please plan for approximately 2 hours for the full experience. If you have a hard stop, let us know when booking and again on arrival, and we will do our best to accommodate. That said, we encourage booking a time when you can enjoy the full two hours with us.
When do reservations open?
Reservations open 30 days in advance at midnight. We serve our chef-curated tasting menu Wednesday through Sunday.
We’re celebrating something special. Can you help us make it memorable?
Absolutely. Please note any birthdays, anniversaries, or special occasions when you book so we can take great care of you.
We’re running late. What should we do?
Please call us as soon as you know you are delayed. Because service is synchronized, arriving late can impact the flow of your experience and may result in missed or rushed courses. We will do our best to adjust, but we may not be able to extend the experience significantly.
What is your cancellation policy?
Our cancellation policy is based on party size:
- Parties of 5 or fewer: Please cancel at least 24 hours in advance.
- Parties of 6 or more: Please cancel at least 72 hours in advance.
Because we are a very small restaurant, even one cancellation can have a meaningful impact on our team and the kitchen’s preparation for the evening. If your plans change, we kindly ask that you let us know as soon as possible. This helps us adjust, gives us the best chance to rebook your seats, and helps you avoid a cancellation fee.
Cancellations outside of the policy window are subject to a fee of the full menu cost per person. If weather, travel, or health conditions are unsafe, please contact us. We always want guests and team members to prioritize safety.
Parking
Where should I park?
We offer parking in our complimentary lot at 216 Rutledge Ave in the “Cannon Green Event Parking” lot. Parking in Charleston can be difficult, so please allow extra time, especially on busy nights, as the lot is sometimes at capacity.
Street parking and additional paid parking options are also available throughout the Cannonborough/Elliotborough neighborhood.
Dietary Restrictions and Allergies
Do you accommodate allergies and dietary restrictions?
We take allergies seriously. Due to the size of our kitchens and the complexity of our menus, we cannot guarantee that food is prepared in an allergen-free environment.
If you have allergies or dietary concerns, please call us at least 72 hours before your reservation so our team can advise you and prepare accordingly.
What can you accommodate?
To preserve Chef Pagán’s menu as envisioned, we aim to make the fewest changes possible. With 72 hours’ notice, we do our best to accommodate:
- Vegetarian
- Pescatarian
- Shellfish allergy
- Nut allergy
What can you not accommodate?
If you are unsure where your needs fall, please reach out before booking, and we will guide you. At this time, we are unable to accommodate:
- Gluten-free
- Celiac
- Dairy-free
- Soy-free
- Fin-fish allergy
- Vegan menus
Courtyard Seating
Can we request the courtyard?
Courtyard seating is subject to weather and private events. If the courtyard is unavailable, we will honor your reservation in our dining room.
The Overlook Private Dining
What is The Overlook?
The Overlook is our private dining room located on the Mezzanine, with a view of both the courtyard and our main dining room. It is an intimate space designed for a special, hosted experience.
How many guests can The Overlook accommodate?
The Overlook can host up to 12 guests.
What is the menu and pricing?
A sample menu is available on our website. The Overlook features our multi-course tasting menu:
- $115 per person for the tasting menu (five courses)
- Beverages, tax, and gratuity are not included
- Optional wine pairings, menu supplements, and our full selection of wines and cocktails are available
How far in advance can I book The Overlook?
We can book The Overlook up to 12 weeks in advance. Because The Overlook is held as a priority for property buyouts and internal events until we are within 12 weeks of the reservation date, we are not able to guarantee the space further out. A buyout may be confirmed before we are able to book a specific date.
Can you accommodate dietary restrictions for private dining?
Yes, with the same guidelines as our dining room. Please call at least 72 hours in advance with any allergies or dietary concerns. We can often accommodate vegetarian, pescatarian, shellfish allergy, and nut allergy, but we are unable to accommodate gluten-free/celiac, dairy-free, soy-free, fin-fish allergy, or vegan menus.
